SERVICES & PRICES
I offer one to one tuition in sociology and can also tutor elements of other social sciences - from GCSE to A Level (including international exams), as well as the Access to Higher Education course, sociology pathway. In addition, I also provide a marking service, proof reading, academic support and mentoring, along with a consultancy service for home educated students. Sessions are conducted online, or may be in person for those local to me. I live on the Somerset/Devon border.
I can tailor services to your
specific needs. There is no obligation to book a block of tuition and sessions
can be ad hoc. You might just need some guidance with a specific unit of a course; only wish to discuss certain topics or simply require focused
assistance on exam technique. The power is with you to determine your learning
needs.
In order to prepare for tuition I offer an initial discussion, of up to 30 minutes, free of charge. This is important because, on a one-to-one basis, it is essential that students feel at ease with the tutor. We can use the time to explore how you might best benefit from tuition and determine the focus for subsequent sessions. Listening to what you want to achieve form your learning, will help to develop a forward plan.

Academic references & predicted grades
For home educated students, who are applying for SHAPE subjects at university - and who may require an academic reference and predicted grades - I may be able to assist. I would need to have regularly tutored you for at least a year and will also require you to undertake an invigilated AS Level mock examination. I am happy to facilitate this in person or via video link. In addition, I will need to see evidence of your work in your other A Level subjects.

Home education consultancy
For those doing structured or semi structured home education and who are planning to take (I)GCSE and A Level examinations, I can offer assistance in navigating the minefield of subjects, specifications and exam boards. This can be achieved through a discussion of the the student's aspirations (including potential university entrance) and future exams. Advice can be given on which subjects and specifications might be most suitable; the timetabling of exams and how best to secure future expectations. I will provide written feedback, detailing all the relevant information to make planning for the student's exams as stress free as possible. I am also in a position to recommend other tutors, who have excellent academic credentials. For those living in the south west, I have a good and long standing relationship with a private exam centre, 3A Tutors and can assist with the entrance process, if required.

I am sorry, but no cards. For those living locally and opting for ‘in person’ sessions, I can accept cash, on the day, in advance of the session starting.
Alternatively, if you prefer, you can pay by cheque (made payable to: A N BULLETT) although payment needs to be received seven working days in advance of the session to ensure that the cheque has ‘cleared’.
Cancellation policy
Unfortunately, there may be times when unforeseen circumstances will mean that you need to cancel a session. Cancellations made 48 hours in advance of your session, will be not be charged. Otherwise a charge of 50% from your payment will be made. No refund will be given for a cancellation within 1 hour of your booking or if you fail to attend for the session.
